These magical lockets are popular among the wealthy. They appear mundane - if fine, of gold wrapped in silver scrollwork and such - but have a small enchantment on them. The locket houses images of the owner for whom it is made, and all of their close family. This usually includes a spouse and children, but some show siblings, nieces, and nephews as well, or parents for a young owner.

The locket expands to include as many little cameos as necessary, and they are added at the birth or acquisition of new family. More than one cheater has been outed by the locket showing their illegitimate child or secret lover.

The images inside keep up with their living counterparts, each aging once a year or so. If and when a locket-member passes away the image ‘locks’ somewhere flattering, at the time when that person felt most comfortable in their own skin. These deceased individuals usually have a small black border around their cameo, or mourning flowers included in their little portrait.
