SETTINGS
The settings below are already well-used! Materials are subject to change depending on whatever strikes my players as coolest, or seems most useful at the time.
The four settings below are a representative selection, though a handful of others have been left out. Some of the settings that appear here appear again in Systems, and some that appear in Systems don't appear here, depending on whether the focus is on the rules or the 'place.'
Mura
A cluster of magically-charged, mithril-laden meteors soars through the sky of Mura every ten-thousand years or so, raining change down on Mura. Each time they pass civilizations rise or fall and heroes are made. Ten-thousand years ago the gods overthrew the titans and their chosen servants - humanity - were introduced to Mura. As the gods, their Church, empires and kings, and common folk wait for the return of the meteors the world rolls at a slow boil.
Mura is a classic high fantasy world full of ancient ruins, powerful magic, and mythical creatures. Sixty-three nations, seven ancestries, and eighteen paths provide plenty of customization for characters in the world. Sketches of places, organizations, and political puzzles create focal points where Game Masters can create stories and players can have real impact on the world.
I've been running games in this world since 2010, converting it from Dungeons & Dragons 3.5 to 5th Edition, then to my own system. Several of the adventures appear on this site.
Abussos
The city of Abussos hangs above a great pit, itself encircled by mountains that scrape the clouds. Summer here lasts for many turns of the seasons outside, only turning to harsh winter once in a generation.
This setting is designed to stand on its own, or to 'slot into' the high southern mountains in Mura. A set of adventures - A Bright Flame in Winter - is designed to play out in Abussos with twenty-five short sessions intended to last a table about a year of bi-weekly play.
Psi SagA
Our own galaxy, centered around the black hole Sagittarius *A, or SagA, at some point far, far in the future. This sci-fi setting is replete with alien species and foreign civilizations, starships, cool lasers, and all the other trappings of space adventure. Inspired by media like Star Wars, Babyon 5, and Battlestar Galactica, adventures from cyberpunk to utopian space fiction can fit into this setting.
Psi SagA uses a set of custom species, backgrounds, classes, equipment, and additional rules laid on top of the bones of Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition (2014).
